Bulk Electricity Supply Interruptions Notice
To: All mediaFrom: Executive Mayor Cllr. YT Ngxonono Date: 09 April 2018 NOTICE OF BULK ELECTRICITY INTERRUPTION AS PUBLISHED BY ESKOM This statement is issued in response to the PUBLIC NOTICE as advertised by Eskom in the article of the 06th of April 2018. The municipality could not comment on the notice as Eskom had not formally informed the Municipality as their client and further to that was the figures published by Eskom which the municipality was in disagreement with in as far as the Eskom debt is concerned. The municipality takes full cognizance and is fully committed towards servicing its debt to Eskom both old and current accounts as per the agreement entered into. I am pleased to inform the community that an urgent meeting was held with Eskom on the 06th of April 2018 for the purpose of resolving the existing dispute on the amount published as well as circumventing the power disruption as published by Eskom. At this meeting a number of resolutions were taken during the meeting with the aim of avoiding the power disruption of which the Municipality will comply as committed and thus we are convinced that Power will not be disrupted. The matter of Eskom still remains a gigantic task for the Municipality and therefore we call upon the community to ensure that they pay what is due to the municipality and report illegal connections and theft of Electricity to the Municipality. Issued by the Executive Mayor: Cllr YT Ngxonono Executive Mayor 09/04/2018 .
