OBJECTIONS OF THE GENERAL VALUATION ROLL 2020/2025 . Govan Mbeki Municipality hereby grants an extension of time to the existing public inspection of General valuation roll 2020/2025 and lodging of objections from 29 May 2020 to 30 June 2020 due to current lockdown COVID-19 pandemic. An invitation is hereby made in terms of Section 49(1)(a)(ii) of the Act that any owner of property or other person who so desires should lodge an objection with the Municipal Manager in respect of any matter reflected in, or omitted from, the General Valuation Roll within the above-mentioned period. Attention is specifically drawn to the fact that in terms of Section 50(2) an objection must be in relation to a specific individual property and not against the Valuation Roll as such. The forms for the lodging of an objection are obtainable at the following addresses during normal office hours: 1. Rooms 307, 305 and 309 Municipal Offices, Horwood Street, Secunda. 2. The original, correct, completed and signed objection form must be put in an envelope marked: “Notice 37/2020 – General Valuation Roll 2020/2025: Objections”. The envelope must be sealed and addressed to: The Municipal Manager, Planning and Development (Property Section), Private Bag X 1017, Secunda, 2302. The envelope must either be posted to the above address or can be deposited in the official tender box that is situated at the front entrance of the Northern wing, Municipal Building, Central Business District, Horwood Street, Secunda, or handed in at any of the above-mentioned municipal offices. The municipality has embarked on a debt collection operation called Koleka Di Koloto (Kodiko) by disconnecting electricity and cutting water supply to businesses that are not paying their municipal accounts.
