DEPUTY DIRECTOR: TRAFFIC AND SECURITY
? Grade 12
? B.Degree in Law, Traffic Management, Security Services or equivalent
? Five (5) years relevant management experience in Traffic Management & Security Services
? Knowledge and experience of the following Acts, legislation, regulations, policies and procedures:
? National Road Traffic Act / National Transport Act / Firearm Control Act / Criminal Procedures Act /
Gatherings Act / PSIRA Regulations / Prevention of Illegal Eviction & Occupation of Land Act
? Constitution of South Africa / Labour Relations Act / Employment Equity Act / Basic Conditions of Employment Act
? Municipal Finance Management Act / Municipal Systems Act / Municipal Structures Act
? Ability to work accurately under pressure and to meet deadlines
? Sound administrative, organizational, interpersonal, communication, managerial skills.
? Strategic capabilities and leadership skills
? Change and people management skills
? Valid Code EB (08) Driver’s License
? Computer Literacy
? Registration with applicable professional body will be an added advantage
Key Performance Areas:
? Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, mid-term and annual reports.
? Ensure Traffic Law Enforcement.
? Rendering of effective security services to ensure the protection of Council property.
? Ensure enforcement of municipal by-laws.
? Ensure proper control and usage of municipal firearms.
? Ensure the execution of road markings & road signs maintenance.
? Administration of gatherings in terms of the Regulation of Gatherings Act.
? Supervise and provide guidance on internal investigations that are conducted.
? Assist with prosecution and chairing of disciplinary tribunals within the Municipality.
? Ensure that service delivery & budget implementation plan is prepared and implemented.
? Financial management (budgeting, expenditure, asset management, employee related costs).
? Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
? Human Resource Management (ensure discipline, identify training, monitor absenteeism, staff performance).
ANNUAL BASIC SALARY: R469 140.00 per annum (level 2) plus normal company benefits, travelling allowance and 25% non-pensionable allowance
