Regulations 4(5) disqualifies the following persons
Objectives and Responsibilities:
In terms of Chapter 2 of the Municipal Regulations on Financial Misconduct, Procedures and Criminal Procedures, Government Gazette No. 37682 of May 2014 on Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act,2003, the Govan Mbeki Local Council hereby invites applications from interested person to be appointed on a part-time basis to be a member of the Municipality’s Disciplinary Board. The Govan Mbeki Municipality has establish an Independent Advisory Body that will assist the Council with the investigations of allegations of financial misconduct, and provide further steps to be taken regarding disciplinary proceedings.

The prospective member of the disciplinary committee will serve for a period not exceeding three (3) years.
The remuneration of the disciplinary committee members is at the discretion of the Municipal Council and in compliance with treasury guidelines.
SEQUENCE OF MEETINGS
A minimum of four meetings will be held in a financial year or at such other time as may be required.
The offer of remuneration will be determined by competencies, qualifications and experience as set out in Notice 1224 published in Government Gazette No. 42023 dated 08 November 2018, Upper Limits of Total Remuneration Packages payable to Municipal Managers and Managers directly accountable to Municipal Managers.

Qualification and employment verification as well as criminal record and credit record enquiries will be performed as part of the screening process for all shortlisted candidates.
